On June 4, 2016, Hiroko Kondo of the Yokohama Project in Japan and Stephanie Meredith of the National Center for Prenatal and Postnatal Resources at the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute in the United States signed a Prenatal Education Coalition Statement. The statement indicated their collaborative interests to share best practices for creating and distributing accurate, balanced, and up-to-date information about Down syndrome and other genetic conditions so that families worldwide can receive the support they need following on diagnosis. The goal of this coalition is to build relationships of trust between the medical and disability advocacy communities around the globe.
